Shockwave Therapy

Don’t let pain control your life, learn how Shockwave Therapy can help you!

Shockwave therapy is a non-surgical treatment for chronic pain, a lingering injury or pain resulting from an illness. The intent of this therapy is to trigger the body’s own natural healing response. This type of therapy involves applying short, frequent, and high intensity bursts of mechanical energy (in the form of shockwave) onto the areas which are inflamed and/or in pain. The energy is not electrical but is a rapid high frequency vibration known as Radial Pressure Wave (RPW). Shockwave increases blood flow, accelerates healing, reduces muscle spasm, and directly decreases pain.

Following are common conditions where Shockwave Therapy is used:

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Heel Pain/Spurs
  • Bursitis
  • Rotator Cuff Injuries
  • Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow
  • Degenerated Tendons
  • Tendinitis
  • Calcific Tendonitis
  • Patellar Tendonitis (Jumper’s Knee)
  • Myofascial Trigger Points in muscle

At One Life Wellness Centre, we use Shockwave Therapy in conjunction with other treatment plans to manage a patient’s condition. For more information about our Laser Therapy treatments, contact us at 647-350-LIFE(5433).
